🧡 Let’s Be Real: Health Ain’t Easy
Let’s just be honest—health is not freaking easy. I’ve been overweight for what feels like forever. I grew up with an Asian mom who didn’t say “I’ll give you money for an A,”—nope, she said, “I’ll give you money if you lose 10 pounds.” Talk about low-key building a whole generation of body image issues.
But the thing is—I was always an athlete. I loved basketball, track, softball, soccer, kung fu (yes, really), and even tried gymnastics. I wasn’t amazing at all of it (let’s be real, I couldn’t carry myself in gymnastics 😂), but I showed up and gave it my all.
Now, I’ve had four kids. I’m 37. Life is full, wild, and honestly exhausting. But here I go again—restarting my weight loss journey, because I’m finally done having babies and I’m ready to focus on me.
🏋️♀️ My Story (aka the Real Stuff)
When I was 18, I got pregnant with my son while playing basketball. I was working out like crazy—3 hours a day—and noticed I randomly gained a pound. Still had my period, but took a test and yep… pregnant. I gained 80 pounds during that pregnancy.
I was living with Polynesians at the time (and if you know, you know—coconut milk, sugar, and no portion limits). My son’s grandpa liked me, so he’d always cook bomb food. It was amazing… and a weight-gain trap. 😅
Losing that baby weight was brutal. But when I left my son’s father, that became my first real transformation. It took me three years, but I lost 80 pounds—gym at 5am, 5-mile runs in the evening, and eating clean. I was young, I had the energy, and I was driven.
Fast-forward to now… I’m not 20 anymore. I’m tired. I’ve got work, a house, and four kids. My energy isn’t endless, but my desire to feel strong, confident, and healthy is still here.
